Jazz Re:freshed Releases Richard Spaven’s Spaven’s 5ive Today, 12.6.10

Many of you probably don’t know who Richard Spaven is, but because most of us here over at The Revivalist happen to have an affinity for drummers, you will soon. With that said, allow us to introduce the drummer extraordinaire Richard Spaven, mixing into his dynamic sound  a little bit of hip-hop, dubstep, electronic and a whole lotta jazz. With wicked time signatures and organic homemade dubstep beats, this cat is definitely someone to have on the radar. Having recorded and toured the world over with artists such as Jose James, Mark da Clive-Lowe, The Cinematic Orchestra and Guru, the label Jazz Re:freshed releases Spaven’s debut mini-album Spaven’s 5ive today.  DJ DooWop guests on the album, as well as vocalist Jose James, playing alongside Robin Mullarkey and Vincent Helbers on bass and keys.
